Description

This Apple Cinnamon Streusel Bread is moist, flavorful, and perfect for fall. With warm spices, tart apples, and a crumbly streusel topping, it’s a cozy treat for any time of day.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup (120g) diced apples (Granny Smith, Honeycrisp, or Fuji)
  • 1 3/4 cups (220g) all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup (100g) softened unsalted butter
  • 2/3 cup (135g) brown sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup (120ml) milk
  • 1/3 cup (40g) all-purpose flour (for streusel topping)
  • 1/4 cup (50g) brown sugar (for streusel topping)
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon (for streusel topping)
  • 3 tablespoons (45g) cold butter (for streusel topping)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×5-inch loaf pan or line it with parchment paper.
  2. Prepare the streusel topping: In a bowl, combine 1/3 cup all-purpose flour, 1/4 cup brown sugar, 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon, and 3 tablespoons cold butter. Mix until crumbly and set aside.
  3. In a large bowl, whisk together 1 3/4 cups all-purpose flour, 1 teaspoon baking powder, 1/2 teaspoon baking soda, and 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon.
  4. In another bowl, cream together 1/2 cup softened butter and 2/3 cup brown sugar. Add 2 large eggs, one at a time, and mix well. Stir in 1 teaspoon vanilla extract and 1/2 cup milk.
  5. Gently fold 1 cup diced apples into the wet mixture.
  6. Add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture in batches, mixing until just combined. Avoid overmixing.
  7. Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan. Sprinkle the streusel topping evenly over the batter.
  8. Bake for 50-60 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  9. Let the bread cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

For best results, use firm, tart apples like Granny Smith. Let the bread cool completely before slicing to avoid crumbling. Optional additions include chopped walnuts, pecans, or raisins.
