Berry Crumble Parfaits

  • Author: David
  • Total Time: 30 minutes
  • Yield: 4 servings 1x

Description

These berry crumble parfaits are a light yet indulgent dessert featuring layers of juicy berries, buttery crumble, and creamy yogurt or whipped cream. Perfect for any occasion, they are easy to make and endlessly customizable.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups mixed berries (strawberries, blueberries, raspberries, or blackberries)
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour (or almond/oat flour for gluten-free)
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter (or coconut oil for dairy-free)
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar (or coconut sugar/maple syrup)
  • 12 tablespoons honey or sugar (optional, to sweeten berries)
  • 1 cup plain Greek yogurt, vanilla yogurt, or whipped cream
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon or nutmeg (optional, for crumble topping)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine 1 cup of flour, 1/2 cup of brown sugar, and 1/2 cup of cold butter cut into small cubes. Mix until the texture resembles coarse crumbs.
  3. Spread the crumble mixture on a baking sheet and bake for 12–15 minutes, or until golden brown. Let it cool completely.
  4. If using fresh berries, rinse and pat them dry. Slice large strawberries. For frozen berries, thaw and drain any excess liquid. Sweeten with 1–2 tablespoons of honey or sugar if needed.
  5. In clear glasses or jars, layer the parfaits: start with a spoonful of crumble, followed by a layer of berries, then a layer of yogurt or whipped cream. Repeat until the glass is full, finishing with a sprinkle of crumble on top.
  6. Refrigerate the parfaits for at least 30 minutes before serving to allow the flavors to meld together. Serve cold and enjoy!

Notes

For the best texture, layer the crumble just before serving to maintain its crunch. You can make the crumble ahead of time and store it in an airtight container for up to a week.
