Description
A creamy and comforting dinner featuring tender chicken, velvety orzo pasta, and the luxurious creaminess of Boursin cheese. Perfect for busy weeknights or entertaining guests.
Ingredients
Scale
- 4 oz Boursin Cheese (Garlic & Fine Herbs flavor)
- 1 cup orzo pasta
- 2 boneless, skinless chicken breasts or thighs
- 1 cup chicken broth (low-sodium preferred)
- 1/4 cup heavy cream
- 2 garlic cloves, minced
- 2 tbsp grated Parmesan cheese
- Fresh parsley or basil for garnish
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- Pinch of paprika
Instructions
- Bring a pot of salted water to a boil and cook the orzo according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.
- Season the chicken with salt, pepper, and a pinch of paprika. Heat a tablespoon of olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Cook the chicken for 4-5 minutes per side until golden brown and cooked through. Remove from the skillet and let it rest.
- In the same skillet, add a little more olive oil if needed and sauté the minced garlic for 1-2 minutes until fragrant.
- Pour in the chicken broth and heavy cream, scraping up any browned bits from the bottom of the skillet. Add the Boursin cheese and stir until it melts into a creamy sauce.
- Slice the chicken into bite-sized pieces and return it to the skillet. Add the cooked orzo and toss everything together until well coated in the sauce.
- Sprinkle freshly grated Parmesan cheese over the top and stir gently. Let it simmer for 1-2 minutes to thicken slightly.
- Top with fresh parsley or basil and serve warm.
Notes
Don’t overcook the orzo; it should be al dente. Use room-temperature Boursin for easier melting. Let the chicken rest before slicing to keep it juicy. Adjust sauce thickness by adding broth or simmering longer.
