Boursin Orzo with Chicken

  • Author: Sarah
  • Total Time: 30 minutes
  • Yield: 4 servings 1x

Description

A creamy and comforting dinner featuring tender chicken, velvety orzo pasta, and the luxurious creaminess of Boursin cheese. Perfect for busy weeknights or entertaining guests.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 oz Boursin Cheese (Garlic & Fine Herbs flavor)
  • 1 cup orzo pasta
  • 2 boneless, skinless chicken breasts or thighs
  • 1 cup chicken broth (low-sodium preferred)
  • 1/4 cup heavy cream
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • 2 tbsp grated Parmesan cheese
  • Fresh parsley or basil for garnish
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • Pinch of paprika

Instructions

  1. Bring a pot of salted water to a boil and cook the orzo according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.
  2. Season the chicken with salt, pepper, and a pinch of paprika. Heat a tablespoon of olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Cook the chicken for 4-5 minutes per side until golden brown and cooked through. Remove from the skillet and let it rest.
  3. In the same skillet, add a little more olive oil if needed and sauté the minced garlic for 1-2 minutes until fragrant.
  4. Pour in the chicken broth and heavy cream, scraping up any browned bits from the bottom of the skillet. Add the Boursin cheese and stir until it melts into a creamy sauce.
  5. Slice the chicken into bite-sized pieces and return it to the skillet. Add the cooked orzo and toss everything together until well coated in the sauce.
  6. Sprinkle freshly grated Parmesan cheese over the top and stir gently. Let it simmer for 1-2 minutes to thicken slightly.
  7. Top with fresh parsley or basil and serve warm.

Notes

Don’t overcook the orzo; it should be al dente. Use room-temperature Boursin for easier melting. Let the chicken rest before slicing to keep it juicy. Adjust sauce thickness by adding broth or simmering longer.
