Ingredients

  • 1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/4 cup dairy-free protein powder (chocolate or vanilla)
  • 1/2 cup almond butter (or peanut butter/sunflower seed butter)
  • 1/4 cup maple syrup (or honey/agave syrup)
  • 1/4 cup dark chocolate chips (dairy-free)
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Pinch of sea salt

Instructions

  1. Measure out all your ingredients to keep things organized.
  2. In a medium bowl, combine almond flour, cocoa powder, protein powder, and a pinch of sea salt.
  3. In a separate bowl, mix the nut butter, maple syrup, and vanilla extract until smooth.
  4. Slowly add the wet mixture to the dry ingredients, stirring until a dough forms. If it’s too dry, add a splash of almond milk; if it’s too sticky, sprinkle in a bit more almond flour.
  5. Fold in the dark chocolate chips.
  6. Using a cookie scoop or spoon, roll the dough into bite-sized balls and place them on a parchment-lined tray.
  7. Chill the tray in the fridge for at least 30 minutes to firm up the bites.

Notes

For a smoother texture, use a food processor to blend the dough. If the dough feels too sticky, refrigerate it for 10 minutes before rolling the bites. Don’t skip the chilling step—it helps the bites hold their shape.
