  • 1/4 cup (50g) granulated sugar
  • 1 tbsp (15g) butter

Instructions

  1. Prepare the filling: In a medium bowl, mix cream cheese, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract until smooth.
  2. Stuff the bread: Cut thick bread slices (about 1-inch thick) and create a pocket by slicing halfway through the middle. Fill each pocket with the cream cheese mixture.
  3. Make the custard: In a large bowl, whisk together eggs, milk, vanilla extract, and cinnamon.
  4. Dip the bread: Carefully dip each stuffed bread slice into the custard mixture, ensuring all sides are coated. Let any excess drip off.
  5. Cook the French toast: Heat a non-stick skillet over medium heat and add butter. Fry each slice for about 2-3 minutes per side, or until golden brown.
  6. Coat with cinnamon sugar: In a shallow dish, mix granulated sugar with cinnamon. Immediately toss the hot French toast in the mixture.
