Description
These delicious chicken sliders are a perfect balance of tender chicken, savory toppings, and a soft bun, making them ideal for game day, summer BBQs, or family dinners.
Ingredients
Scale
- 2 boneless, skinless chicken breasts (or chicken thighs for a juicier option)
- 12 slider buns (brioche or Hawaiian rolls recommended)
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/2 cup barbecue sauce
- 6 slices sharp cheddar or pepper jack cheese
- 12 pickle slices
- 2 tablespoons butter, melted
Instructions
- Slice the chicken breasts into slider-sized portions (about 2-3 inches wide). Season them generously with garlic powder, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper.
- Heat a griddle or skillet over medium heat and lightly grease with oil. Cook the chicken pieces for about 4-5 minutes per side, or until golden brown and fully cooked.
- Brush the cooked chicken with barbecue sauce on both sides and let it caramelize for an additional 1-2 minutes on the griddle.
- Slice the slider buns and brush the insides with melted butter. Toast them in a preheated oven at 350°F (175°C) for 3-4 minutes or until golden.
- Place the cooked chicken pieces onto the bottom halves of the buns. Add a slice of cheese, pickles, and any additional toppings you like.
- Add the top buns and secure each slider with a toothpick if needed. Serve warm and enjoy!
Notes
For even cooking, pound the chicken pieces to an even thickness before seasoning. Keep sliders warm in a low-temperature oven (200°F/93°C) if serving a crowd.
