Description
This gourmet pizza combines creamy ricotta, juicy blackberries, and fresh basil on a crispy crust for a perfect balance of sweet, savory, and herby flavors. It’s elegant enough for entertaining yet simple enough to make any night of the week.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 pizza dough (store-bought or homemade)
- 1 cup (240g) whole-milk ricotta cheese
- 1 cup (150g) fresh blackberries
- 2 tablespoons fresh basil leaves
- 2 tablespoons honey
- 3 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
- Pinch of flaky sea salt
- Freshly cracked black pepper to taste
- Optional: chili flakes, arugula, goat cheese
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 475°F (245°C). If using a pizza stone, place it in the oven to heat.
- Roll out pizza dough on a lightly floured surface to desired thickness. Transfer to parchment paper.
- In a small bowl, mix ricotta with a pinch of salt and 1 teaspoon olive oil. Spread evenly on dough, leaving 1-inch border for crust.
- Toss blackberries with 1 teaspoon olive oil. Scatter evenly over ricotta base.
- Transfer pizza (on parchment) to preheated pizza stone or baking sheet.
- Bake for 10-12 minutes, until crust is golden and blackberries are slightly softened.
- Remove from oven and drizzle with honey. Top with fresh basil leaves.
- Sprinkle with flaky salt and fresh black pepper. Slice and serve warm.
Notes
Let pizza dough come to room temperature before rolling. Pat blackberries dry if very juicy to prevent soggy crust. Add basil after baking to preserve its color and flavor. Best served immediately while crust is crispy.
