Easy Creamy Cilantro Garlic Sauce

  • Author: David

Description

This Easy Creamy Cilantro Garlic Sauce is a fresh, zesty condiment perfect for tacos, burrito bowls, grilled veggies, or as a salad dressing. It’s creamy, tangy, and slightly spicy, making it a versatile addition to any meal.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup (about 30g) fresh cilantro leaves
  • 2 garlic cloves, peeled
  • 1/4 cup (60g) Greek yogurt
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons freshly squeezed lime juice
  • Pinch of salt
  • 1 small jalapeño, deseeded and chopped (optional)

Instructions

  1. Wash and roughly chop the cilantro, peel the garlic cloves, and deseed and chop the jalapeño if using.
  2. In a blender or food processor, combine cilantro, garlic, Greek yogurt, olive oil, lime juice, and salt.
  3. Blend on high speed until the sauce is smooth and creamy. Add water, one tablespoon at a time, if the sauce is too thick.
  4. Taste and adjust the flavors as needed. Add more lime juice for tanginess or more jalapeño for spice.
  5. Chill the sauce in the refrigerator for at least 15 minutes before serving to allow the flavors to meld together.

Notes

For a milder flavor, use roasted garlic instead of raw. Adjust the consistency by adding more water for a thinner sauce or less olive oil for a thicker texture. This sauce tastes even better the next day as the flavors deepen.
