Description
Soft, flaky crescent rolls wrapped around a creamy, sweet filling and bursting with fresh strawberry flavor. Perfect for brunch, dessert, or a fun weekend baking project.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 package crescent roll dough
- 4 oz cream cheese (full-fat preferred)
- 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 cup fresh strawberries, sliced
- 1 egg
- 1 tablespoon water
- Optional: powdered sugar for dusting
- Optional: melted chocolate for drizzling
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or lightly grease it.
- In a mixing bowl, combine cream cheese, granulated sugar, and vanilla extract. Stir until smooth and creamy.
- Wash and hull the strawberries, then slice them thinly.
- Unroll the crescent dough and lay out the triangles on the prepared baking sheet.
- Spread a thin layer of the cream cheese mixture onto each triangle, leaving a small border around the edges.
- Place a few strawberry slices on top of the cream cheese layer.
- Starting at the wide end of each triangle, gently roll the dough toward the point. Arrange the rolls on the baking sheet with the seam side down.
- Beat the egg with water and brush it lightly over the tops of the rolls.
- Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until golden brown and puffed up.
- Let the rolls cool slightly before serving. Dust with powdered sugar or drizzle with chocolate if desired.
Notes
Don’t overfill the rolls to prevent leaking. Use ripe strawberries for the best flavor. Watch the oven closely as crescent rolls can brown quickly.
