Description
A simple and elegant way to elevate your meals with vibrant cranberry dust, perfect for sweet and savory dishes alike.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 cup fresh cranberries
- 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon lemon zest
- Pinch of salt (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 200°F (95°C).
- Wash the cranberries thoroughly and pat them dry with a clean kitchen towel. Spread them out evenly on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
- Place the baking sheet in the oven and let the cranberries dry for 2-3 hours, stirring occasionally. They should shrink and become leathery but not browned.
- Remove the cranberries from the oven and let them cool to room temperature.
- Transfer the dried cranberries to a food processor or blender. Add the sugar, lemon zest, and salt. Blend until a fine powder forms, scraping down the sides as needed.
- For a smoother texture, sift the cranberry dust through a fine mesh sieve. Store in an airtight container in a cool, dry place for up to 3 months.
