Description
Decadent cookies with crisp edges, gooey centers, and premium chocolate chunks, perfect for any occasion.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1 cup packed brown sugar
- 2 large eggs, room temperature
- 2 teaspoons pure vanilla extract
- 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 2 cups premium chocolate chunks
- Optional: 1/2 cup chopped nuts, flaky sea salt, or a sprinkle of cinnamon
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line baking sheets with parchment paper or silicone mats.
- In a large bowl, beat softened butter with granulated sugar and brown sugar until light and fluffy (about 2-3 minutes).
- Beat in the eggs one at a time, followed by the vanilla extract.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt. Gradually add this to the wet mixture, mixing until just combined.
- Fold in the chocolate chunks using a spatula to ensure even distribution.
- Cover the bowl and refrigerate the dough for at least 30 minutes to enhance flavor and prevent spreading.
- Use a cookie scoop or tablespoon to form balls of dough, placing them about 2 inches apart on the prepared baking sheets.
- Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown and the centers look slightly underbaked. Do not overbake!
- Allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheets for 5 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack.
Notes
Refrigerating the dough is key to achieving thick, chewy cookies. Customize with nuts, white chocolate, or spices for a unique twist.
