Instructions
- Brown the butter: In a medium saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat. Stir constantly until it turns golden brown and smells nutty. Remove from heat and let it cool to room temperature.
- Preheat the oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line baking sheets with parchment paper.
- Mix wet ingredients: In a large bowl, cream the browned butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until fluffy. Add the eggs and vanilla extract, mixing until combined.
- Combine dry ingredients: In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, and salt. Gradually add this to the wet mixture, mixing until just combined.
- Add oats: Fold in the rolled oats until evenly distributed.
- Portion dough: Use a cookie scoop or tablespoon to drop dough onto the prepared baking sheets, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
- Bake: Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown. The centers will appear slightly underdone but will firm up as they cool.
- Cool: Let cookies cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes, then transfer to a cooling rack.
- Make the glaze: Whisk together maple syrup, powdered sugar, and milk until smooth. Drizzle over cooled cookies.
