Maple Bourbon Spheres Recipe – Easy Homemade Dessert

  • Author: David
  • Total Time: 4-6 hours (including chilling time)
  • Yield: 12 spheres 1x

Description

Indulgently creamy dessert with smoky bourbon and natural maple sweetness, perfect for parties or cozy evenings.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1/4 cup maple syrup
  • 2 tablespoons bourbon
  • 8 ounces cream cheese, softened
  • 1/4 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 2 teaspoons gelatin
  • 2 tablespoons cold water
  • Chocolate coating (optional)

Instructions

  1. Sprinkle 2 teaspoons of gelatin over 2 tablespoons of cold water in a small bowl. Let it sit for 5 minutes.
  2. In a small saucepan, combine 1/4 cup maple syrup and 2 tablespoons bourbon. Gently heat over low until warm, then stir in the bloomed gelatin until fully dissolved.
  3. In a large mixing bowl, beat 8 ounces of softened cream cheese with 1/4 cup powdered sugar and 1 teaspoon vanilla extract until smooth and creamy.
  4. In a separate bowl, whip 1/2 cup heavy cream until stiff peaks form. Gently fold the whipped cream into the cream cheese mixture.
  5. Gradually pour the maple-bourbon mixture into the cream base, folding gently to combine. Be careful not to deflate the whipped cream.
  6. Spoon the mixture into silicone sphere molds, smoothing the tops for a clean finish.
  7. Refrigerate for at least 4-6 hours, or until the spheres are set and firm.
  8. Optional: Melt your favorite chocolate and dip each sphere for a glossy finish. Let the coating harden before serving.

Notes

[‘Use quality bourbon for the best flavor.’, ‘Ensure the spheres are fully set before unmolding.’, ‘Chill thoroughly for optimal texture.’, ‘Chocolate coating adds extra indulgence but is optional.’]
