Ingredients

  • Eggs, beaten

  • Grated Parmesan cheese (optional)
  • Garlic powder
  • Paprika
  • Salt
  • Pepper
  • Oil for frying (vegetable or canola oil)

Instructions

  1. Cut the mozzarella cheese into bite-sized pieces or use mozzarella balls. Place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  2. Freeze the mozzarella pieces for at least 30 minutes to prevent them from melting too quickly during frying.
  3. Set up three bowls: one with flour, one with beaten eggs, and one with breadcrumbs mixed with Parmesan, garlic powder, paprika, salt, and pepper.
  4. Dip each mozzarella piece into the flour, then the eggs, and finally the breadcrumb mixture. Ensure each piece is fully coated.
  5. For extra crunch, repeat the egg and breadcrumb coating process to create a thicker barrier.
  6. Heat oil in a deep fryer or heavy-bottomed pot to 350°F (175°C). Use a thermometer to maintain the temperature.
  7. Working in small batches, fry the coated mozzarella pieces for 1-2 minutes or until golden brown. Avoid overcrowding the pot.
  8. Remove the mozzarella bites with a slotted spoon and place them on paper towels to drain excess oil.
  9. Serve immediately with your favorite dipping sauces like marinara, ranch, or garlic aioli.
