Description
A vibrant and fizzy summer drink with a tangy lemon kick and sweet strawberry burst, perfect for backyard BBQs, poolside hangouts, and lazy weekends.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 cup fresh strawberries (or thawed frozen strawberries)
- 1 cup freshly squeezed lemon juice (about 4–6 lemons)
- 1/2 cup honey or sugar (adjust to taste)
- 3 cups cold water
- 1–2 cups sparkling water
- Mint leaves (optional, for garnish)
- Ice cubes
- Sliced strawberries (optional, for garnish)
Instructions
- Wash and hull the strawberries, then slice them into halves. Puree in a blender until smooth. Strain through a fine mesh sieve if you prefer a smoother drink.
- Juice the lemons to yield about 1 cup of fresh lemon juice.
- In a pitcher, combine the strawberry puree, lemon juice, and honey or sugar. Stir until the sweetener is fully dissolved.
- Add 3 cups of cold water to the mixture and stir well. Taste and adjust sweetness if needed. Chill in the fridge for at least 30 minutes.
- Fill glasses halfway with ice cubes and pour the chilled lemonade mixture over them.
- Top each glass with sparkling water for fizz.
- Garnish with a sprig of mint and a sliced strawberry on the rim, if desired.
Notes
For a low-sugar version, use natural sweeteners like stevia. Add sparkling water just before serving to maintain fizz. For an adult twist, add a splash of vodka, gin, or rum.
