Description
This slow cooker honey garlic ham is tender, juicy, and coated in a sweet and savory glaze made with honey, garlic, and soy sauce. It’s an effortless, crowd-pleasing dish perfect for holidays or cozy family dinners.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 boneless pre-cooked ham (3–4 pounds)
- 1/2 cup honey
- 4–5 garlic cloves, minced
- 1/4 cup soy sauce
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 2 tablespoons Dijon mustard
- 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/2 cup water or chicken broth
Instructions
- In a small saucepan, combine honey, soy sauce, brown sugar, garlic, Dijon mustard, and apple cider vinegar. Heat over medium until the sugar dissolves and the mixture begins to bubble, about 3–4 minutes. Remove from heat.
- Place the boneless ham, flat side down, in the slow cooker. Pour the water or broth around it (not directly over it).
- Spoon half of the honey garlic glaze over the ham, coating it evenly. Reserve the remaining glaze.
- Cover and cook on low for 4–5 hours or high for 2–3 hours, basting once or twice during cooking.
- About 15 minutes before serving, simmer the remaining glaze in a saucepan until slightly thickened, about 5 minutes.
- Carefully remove the ham from the slow cooker and let it rest for 10 minutes before slicing. Spoon the thickened glaze over the top and serve warm.
Notes
For extra flavor, refrigerate the ham in the glaze overnight before cooking. If your glaze is too thick, add a splash of broth or water. For a caramelized finish, broil the ham for 3–4 minutes after slow cooking. Leftovers can be refrigerated for up to 5 days or frozen for up to 2 months.
