Description

A quick and easy recipe packed with bold flavors, combining the heat of chili, the savoriness of shrimp, and the sweetness of honey. Perfect for a weeknight dinner or to impress your friends.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound medium-sized shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 4 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 teaspoon chili flakes (adjust to taste)
  • 3 tablespoons low-sodium soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon honey
  • 2 tablespoons sesame oil
  • 8 ounces noodles (egg noodles, ramen, or spaghetti)
  • 2 green onions, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Bring a pot of water to boil and cook the noodles according to package instructions. Drain and set aside. Toss the cooked noodles with a little sesame oil to prevent sticking.
  2. In a large skillet or wok, heat 2 tablespoons of sesame oil over medium heat.
  3. Add the minced garlic and chili flakes to the skillet. Stir for about 30 seconds until fragrant but not browned.
  4. Add the shrimp to the skillet. Cook for 2-3 minutes on each side until they turn pink and opaque. Remove shrimp from the skillet and set aside.
  5. Pour the soy sauce and honey into the skillet. Stir well and let it simmer for 1-2 minutes to thicken slightly.
  6. Return the shrimp to the skillet and toss to coat them in the sauce.
  7. Add the cooked noodles to the skillet. Use tongs to toss everything together until the noodles are well coated and heated through.
  8. Sprinkle chopped green onions on top and serve immediately.

Notes

Marinate the shrimp in soy sauce and garlic for 15 minutes for extra flavor. Avoid overcooking the shrimp to maintain a juicy texture. Adjust the chili flakes to control the spice level.
