Description
A quick and easy recipe packed with bold flavors, combining the heat of chili, the savoriness of shrimp, and the sweetness of honey. Perfect for a weeknight dinner or to impress your friends.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 pound medium-sized shrimp, peeled and deveined
- 4 garlic cloves, minced
- 1 teaspoon chili flakes (adjust to taste)
- 3 tablespoons low-sodium soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon honey
- 2 tablespoons sesame oil
- 8 ounces noodles (egg noodles, ramen, or spaghetti)
- 2 green onions, chopped (for garnish)
Instructions
- Bring a pot of water to boil and cook the noodles according to package instructions. Drain and set aside. Toss the cooked noodles with a little sesame oil to prevent sticking.
- In a large skillet or wok, heat 2 tablespoons of sesame oil over medium heat.
- Add the minced garlic and chili flakes to the skillet. Stir for about 30 seconds until fragrant but not browned.
- Add the shrimp to the skillet. Cook for 2-3 minutes on each side until they turn pink and opaque. Remove shrimp from the skillet and set aside.
- Pour the soy sauce and honey into the skillet. Stir well and let it simmer for 1-2 minutes to thicken slightly.
- Return the shrimp to the skillet and toss to coat them in the sauce.
- Add the cooked noodles to the skillet. Use tongs to toss everything together until the noodles are well coated and heated through.
- Sprinkle chopped green onions on top and serve immediately.
Notes
Marinate the shrimp in soy sauce and garlic for 15 minutes for extra flavor. Avoid overcooking the shrimp to maintain a juicy texture. Adjust the chili flakes to control the spice level.
