  • Author: David
  • Total Time: 1 hour 5 minutes
  • Yield: 8 servings 1x

Description

This Ultimate Bourbon Peach Cobbler with Pecan Streusel Topping is a rich, decadent dessert that combines sweet peaches, a buttery crust, and a nutty streusel with a hint of bourbon for added depth. Perfect for summer gatherings or a comforting treat.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 68 fresh peaches (about 6 cups), sliced into wedges
  • 1/4 cup bourbon
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar (for streusel)
  • 1/3 cup all-purpose flour (for streusel)
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon (for streusel)
  • 1/4 cup cold unsalted butter (for streusel)
  • 1/2 cup chopped pecans (for streusel)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C) and grease a 9×13-inch baking dish with butter or non-stick spray.
  2. Slice 6-8 peaches into wedges (about 6 cups). In a large bowl, toss them with 1/4 cup bourbon, 1/2 cup brown sugar, 1 tablespoon flour, and 1 teaspoon cinnamon. Let them sit for 10 minutes to soak up the flavors.
  3. In a separate bowl, whisk together 1 cup flour, 1/2 cup sugar, 1 teaspoon baking powder, and 1/4 teaspoon salt. Gradually stir in 1/2 cup milk and 1 teaspoon vanilla extract until smooth.
  4. Pour the batter into the prepared baking dish. Spoon the peaches and their juices evenly over the batter.
  5. In another bowl, mix 1/2 cup brown sugar, 1/3 cup flour, and 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon. Cut in 1/4 cup cold butter with a pastry cutter or fork until crumbly. Fold in 1/2 cup chopped pecans.
  6. Sprinkle the streusel mixture evenly over the peaches. Bake for 40-45 minutes, or until the topping is golden brown and the filling is bubbly.
  7. Let the cobbler sit for 10 minutes before serving. It will thicken as it cools.

Notes

For a kid-friendly version, skip the bourbon and add a splash of orange juice. If your topping isn’t browning, broil it for 1-2 minutes for a golden finish. Let the cobbler rest after baking to allow it to thicken.
