Description
A spiced cocktail perfect for fall nights, combining the warmth of bourbon with the sweet tang of apple cider and seasonal spices.
Ingredients
Scale
- 2 cups (480 ml) apple cider
- 2 oz (60 ml) bourbon
- 2 cinnamon sticks
- 3 whole cloves
- 2 orange slices
- 1 tablespoon (15 ml) maple syrup
- Pinch of ground nutmeg
- Ice (optional, for serving chilled)
Instructions
- In a small saucepan, combine 2 cups (480 ml) of apple cider, 2 cinnamon sticks, 3 whole cloves, and 2 orange slices. Heat over medium-low heat for 5–7 minutes until fragrant. Do not let it boil.
- Stir in 1 tablespoon (15 ml) of maple syrup and a pinch of nutmeg. Taste and adjust sweetness as needed.
- If serving chilled, remove from heat and let the cider cool slightly. If serving warm, skip this step.
- In a shaker or directly in your serving glass, mix 2 oz (60 ml) of bourbon with the spiced cider mixture.
- Fill a glass with ice (if serving chilled) and pour the cocktail over. Garnish with a cinnamon stick and an orange slice.
Notes
For a non-alcoholic version, omit the bourbon and add a splash of sparkling water. Adjust sweetness and spice levels to taste. Rim the glass with cinnamon sugar for a festive touch.
