Ingredients
Scale
- 1 large head of fresh broccoli, cut into bite-sized florets
- 2 tablespoons honey (or maple syrup for vegan option)
- 1 tablespoon soy sauce (or tamari/coconut aminos for gluten-free)
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 2 teaspoons minced garlic
- 1 teaspoon sesame seeds (optional)
- 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional, adjust to taste)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Wash and dry the broccoli thoroughly. Cut into bite-sized florets.
- In a mixing bowl, whisk together honey, soy sauce, olive oil, and minced garlic.
- Add the broccoli florets to the bowl and toss until evenly coated with the glaze.
- Spread the broccoli in a single layer on the prepared baking sheet, ensuring no overcrowding.
- Roast in the oven for 20-25 minutes, flipping halfway through, until edges are crispy and centers are tender.
- If desired, sprinkle sesame seeds and red pepper flakes over the broccoli during the last 5 minutes of roasting.
- Remove from the oven and let cool slightly before serving.
Notes
Ensure the broccoli is thoroughly dried before roasting to achieve crispy edges. Adjust the glaze to taste by adding more honey for sweetness or soy sauce for saltiness. Avoid overcrowding the baking sheet to prevent steaming.
